Meet TJ, his expertise is backed by a range of certifications, including the NASM Certification, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Pre-Natal and Postpartum Fitness Specialist, Functional Movement Screen Certified, and Kettlebell Athletics 1 & 2. This diverse skill set allows him to offer specialized training tailored to individual needs.
With seven years of experience in personal training, including three years at Equinox working with high-profile clientele, TJ has gained valuable insights and expertise. He has worked with individuals from every demographic, ranging from those in their 70s to individuals with severe disabilities. This breadth of experience has honed his ability to adapt to suit each client's unique circumstances and goals.
TJ's training philosophy revolves around the belief that the benefits of fitness extend beyond the gym. He aims to help clients improve their overall quality of life, emphasizing a realistic, sustainable, and consistent approach to fitness. TJ is committed to fostering long-term success and counteracting the negative effects of body dysmorphia and similar challenges through his ability to empathize and relate to his clients.
Outside of the gym, TJ enjoys spending time with his two children, Leigha (8) and Kalel (2). When he's not bonding with his kids, you might find him catching DUBS in the game “Warzone.” Additionally, he considers himself a “functional powerlifter,” who places massive emphasis on his mobility and flexibility training. TJ also has a mischievous side, often being a playful menace to his dog, King.
Here's a fun fact about TJ: before becoming a personal trainer, he spent seven years working as an emergency and critical care veterinary technician at various animal hospitals in the DMV area, including Friendship Animal Hospital.
